ILES Students Wowed By Wildlife!

It's not everyday you see a snake slither in the school or a penguin strut across the gym floor, but that was the scene at Indian Lake Elementary recently!
Wildlife specialists from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and The Wilds brought in several species from different areas of the zoo for the students to learn about, see in person and touch. 
The crowd got more excited as each animal was introduced, including the eastern screech owl, the African penguin, the opossum, the armadillo and the red-tailed python. Many students were able to see the animals up close, give them favorite treats and touch their unique fur, feathers or scales. 
The visit was sponsored by the Indian Lake Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization.
