The ILES 4th Graders took us back to the days of sock hops and dance offs with their recently mini-musical "At the Bandstand!" They did a great job singing and dancing to some fun 50s classics during their performance in the ILHS Auditorium.
The bandstand was thrown off kilter when their famous dancer suffered an injury. So a new dance partner for the star had to be chosen with the help of songs like "Rocking' Robin" and "Splish Splash!"
The show was directed by ILES music educator Tracey Notestine. Thanks to all the family and friends who came out to support these elementary students!

The 4th grade mini musical “At The Bandstand” will take place Thursday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the I.L. High School Auditorium. Students will meet in the auxiliary gym (across hall from auditorium) at 6:40 p.m. Auditorium doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Please do not arrive before 6:30 p.m. as there are other activities happening within the building.
Students are asked to wear clothing that reflects the time period. Plain t-shirts with jeans (no holes), a shirt and tie, capri pants, leggings, 50’s style dresses & poodle skirts are all a great place to start. Please no sunglasses or hats.
If your child needs a ride, please make arrangements with a friend or family member now so that they don’t miss out! Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and donations will be taken at the door to help support the elementary music department.
