ILES 1st graders showed off their musical abilities during their performance of “Simple Songs We Know” recently. Students performed a collection of pieces illustrating the skills they learned this year in music classes. The songs showed how they can move to the beat, play simple instruments, clap to a rhythm, and sing loudly and softly. Here’s their song Bees are Buzzing, demonstrating singing in a round.
The show was directed by ILES music educator Mrs. Pamela Mendenhall.
ILES first graders will present "Simple Songs We Know" on Thursday, April 10th. They will perform for family and friends at 7:00 p.m. at the Indian Lake High School Auditorium. Student arrival is by 6:45 p.m. Auditorium doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s show is “Simple Songs We Know” (A Celebration of Learning.) Students are putting together some simple songs with instruments and singing. A free will donation at the door will go towards future programs and IL Elementary music department equipment. Hope to see you there!
