Tall Tales and Fairy Tales at ILES

ILES second graders had an unbelievable time celebrating the conclusion of their unit on tall tales and fairy tales!
They got to dress up as characters from the stories they've been reading and a group of parents served up pancakes in costume, as well!
Second graders have been reading and studying the stories that include hard-to-believe elements or exaggerations of real events. Many are part of American and European folklore. Favorites include Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, Pecos Bill, Beauty and the Beast and the Emperor's New Clothes.
To cap off the unit, the students watched the animated movie "Bunyan and Babe."
