Professional Fisherman Emphasizes Good Choices

ILES fourth graders are getting a cool reminder to make good choices as they get closer to summer break and middle school!
Professional fisherman Mike Defibaugh from Logan County brought his special boat to show students recently. He talked to them about achieving their dreams with hard work and dedication.
Defibaugh also discussed the important of making good choices when it comes to social media, an area where many middle school students struggle.
"If you post something mean about a friend or classmate, it's out there forever. So think carefully about the what you decide to post," Defibaugh continued. "As a professional fisherman, I have a lot of sponsors. I am always careful about what I post because I am a representative for those companies."
Defibaugh has visited with ILES students for many years as part of the SADD Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs program. The fourth graders will fish at Indian Lake later in May.
