ILES students know that our school cares for others and we show it by walking with them!
Indian Lake Elementary School hosted its fifth annual Hope Walk recently.
Students lined the entire track and observed a moment of silence for those lost to cancer. Then, several survivors joined the students for a Survivor Lap to officially start the event. This year's cancer survivors included the spouses of two long-time Indian Lake employees--Steve Klauer, the husband of kindergarten aide Holly Klauer and Mike Hogan, the husband of secretary Lori Hogan. Other survivors who joined in are: Pam Hershberger (Evelyn Hershberger), Gayle Dye (Nora Wickline), Tina Knight (Dawson Snipes and Emmy Everhart), Leslie Chapman (Myla Rollins, Owen Myers and Wyatt Myers), VIcky Robinson (Adeline Rockhold), Tammy Hurley (Liam Narcizo), Kathy Beair (Morgan Beair), Pam Jenkins (Bowen Widener), Terri Ransbottom (Delaney Stevenson), Melinda Price (Layna Huffman), Laura Pratt (Layne Schwer and Emmy Arndts), Derek Barnett (Emma Barnett), and Carol Hess, Mike Best, and Lorna Brunson (Mrs. Elaine Keller).
After the Survivor Lap, students came out to run and walk on the track throughout the day.
For the past week, ILES students have been raising funds with sales of t-shirts, bandanas, and hats, plus a Coin War and more.
All Hope Walk proceeds will benefit the Logan County Cancer Society and help support local people who are dealing with cancer.
The total raised will be combined with the ILMS Hope Walk total and released at a later date.
Join the Lakers as they raise money for a cure on Tuesday, May 12th at the annual ILES Hope Walk! The Survivor Lap will take place at 8:30 am at Laker Stadium. Please RSVP to 937-686-READ if you plan to attend.
ILES 2026 Hope Walk items are for sale during lunch now through next Tuesday at the elementary school and there’s a Boys vs Girls Coin War going on as well!
Proceeds benefit the Logan County Cancer Society.
The ILMS Hope Walk will be held on Wednesday, May 13th.
