Yee Haw!!
ILES students are encouraged to lasso a good book and read non-fiction books over the summer break.
Reading Gurus “Fisherwoman Frieda” and “Eartha Worm” held a Summer Reading Assembly recently to give kids ideas of what, when and where to read.
Eartha told Frieda she recently took a trip on which she rode horses, so she got a book to teach her more about how to care for horses--a nonfiction book. Eartha also met an Elvis impersonator on her trip, so she found a biography of the famous singer--another nonfiction book.
With sponsorship from the ILES PTO and Co-Principals Molly Hall and Pam Scarpella, plus the ILES PTO students got to choose seven new books to take home.
Cowboys and cowgirls who read 30 books and turn in the Summer Reading Log will get special treats in the fall including a new book, candy, an extra recess and more!
If students lose the 2022 Summer Reading Log, they were given, they can print another. The logs must be turned in the first or second day of school.
