The Life Skills Training team its wrapping up their fall session with 3rd graders by talking about effective communication and social skills.
Nikki Trout and Diane Mouser speak to students in the fall and spring about good decision making and consequences, self-esteem, dealing with stress, the dangers of tobacco, drugs and alcohol and other valuable behaviors.
The duo played a game of "Feelings Charades" to demonstrate how often we outwardly convey our inner emotions.
Mouser says, "We discussed how sometimes we are misunderstood because of our body language and facial expressions. Even though you might be trying to be nice, if you have a frown on your face it sends a different message."
The “Life Skills Training” program is brought to Indian Lake Schools annually through Trout’s company Nitro Networks. It is funded by a special grant.
