The Life Skills team is encouraging kids at ILES to think about how the things they say and do can impact their own lives and the lives of other people.
Nikki Trout and Diane Mouser speak to third grade students in the fall and fourth graders in the spring about good decision making and consequences, self-esteem, dealing with stress, the dangers of tobacco, drugs and alcohol and other topics affecting young people.
In one of the early sessions of the fall, Trout covered consequences and how students should consider them before making important or everyday decisions.
"I'm asking you to take time in your life to stop and think about the consequences of your actions," said Nikki Trout.
The “Life Skills Training” program is brought to Indian Lake Schools annually through Trout’s company, Nitro Networks. It is funded by a special grant.
