Indian Lake kindergarten students gave a sweet send off for one of their own who is going to be out for an operation!
Kayla Tracey, in Mrs. Kate Beam's class, is about to undergo a special new surgery at a New Jersey hospital to correct a severe curvature in her spine. She has worn back braces since she was an infant, but the hope is this surgery will cause her spine to straighten as she grows.
At the end of the day Kayla's last day at school, her best friend and neighbor, Ivy Kaser, brought in special Kayla's Krew cookies for the class and they all wore their green bracelets in honor of scoliosis awareness. Then the kids danced to Kayla's favorite "Go Noodle" songs. In addition, the whole kindergarten made and signed a giant card to send her in the hospital.
The entire staff at Indian Lake Schools will be thinking of Kayla and her family over these next few weeks wishing her comfort and healing!!
