Indian Lake Elementary School kicked off Screen Free Week with the final Family Game Night of the Year recently.
Many staff and students dressed up as their favorite storybook characters for the event, including Disney princesses, Tigger, Captain Underpants, Where's Waldo, Laura Ingalls Wilder and more.
Along with games, crafts, hot dogs, faceprinting, jumping in the bounce house and prizes, this Family Game Night featured a small petting zoo with snakes, a ferret, rabbits and chickens.
Organizer Pam Scarpella says the night is all about giving kids alternatives to video games and tv by presenting a variety of activities. She hopes they remember to read, exercise, walk the dog, create art and help their parents all summer instead of spending all their time on devices!
Family Game Nights will resume at ILES in the fall.
