Indian Lake Elementary first through fourth graders learned about their own "Incredible Human Machine" during the COSI on Wheels visit Friday.
The event began with a COSI-led assembly where kids got to be a part of helping a human body become healthy through proper brain function, fuel and balance of energy and exercise.
COSI on Wheels Outreach Educator Mackenzie Krueger says, "This show is an educator favorite. The body is relatable for kids, a concrete concept. The kids love all the dancing and being healthy is beneficial for everyone."
The presentation included introductions to the body's skeletal, muscular, circulatory, digestive and nervous systems.
Fourth grade student Gabriel Lowery got to experience all the nervous system controls by trying to perform each of brain's functions by himself.
After the presentation, students visited ten different stations manned by volunteers throughout the day. The stations included a video game dancing challenge, X-rays, brain games, healthy eating, microscopic study of body cells, heart health and more.
The ILES COSI on Wheels visit is paid for by the ILES PTO.
