Indian Lake Elementary educators are hoping that special gifts students are now receiving will help them bridge the learning gap this summer!
Reading Gurus “Fisherwoman Frieda” and “Eartha Worm” made a video of a Virtual Summer Reading Assembly! They asked kids to read books in all kinds of places like outside, in front of a mirror, or even read to their stuff animals, pets and relatives!
With sponsorship from the ILES PTO and Co-Principals Molly Hall and Jeff Reprogle, students got to choose two books to take home. Plus, students got a third book thanks to a Indian Lake Community Church day-care donation.
Finally, each ILES student is receiving a Summer Bridge Book for their grade level. Students are asked to complete at least 10 lessons (or more!) over the summer to stay current.
Those who read 30 books, complete 10 Bridge lessons and turn in 2021 Summer Reading Log will get special treats in the fall including a new book, candy, an extra recess and more!
If students lose the 2021 Summer Reading Log they were given, they can print another. The logs must be turned in the first or second day of school.
