Indian Lake 1st and 4th graders learned how the land is used for work, food and play during the recent Ohio Farm Bureau Top of Ohio Ag Tour.
First graders got to meet with representatives from the Indian Lake Watershed Project to learn about how responsible agriculture helps keep the water in Indian Lake clean. Then they visited Wenger Farms to paint pumpkins and learn how they grow. They finished at Markin Farms, with Logan County's only zip line.
Meantime, fourth graders travelled to the Logan County Electric Cooperative to hear about how energy is produced and used in farming. They moved on the Lion's Park in West Liberty to study soil conservation, archeology, fish habitat, geology, b
utterfly migration and more. They finished at the Piatt Family Farm where they compared farming of old to modern agriculture practices.
